Bourguignon, Maurice was born in 1885 in Mattaincourt, a city near Mirecourt, France. He started his apprenticeship with Chevrier in the Thibouville-Lamy workshops in Mirecourt (from age 13). After completing his apprenticeship, he moved to Paris and worked at major shops in Paris. Later he moved to Brussels to study under Georges Mougenot. Maurice eventually acquired Mougenot’s business in 1910 and continued to craft fine instruments. During his career, Maurice was awarded several medals and diplomas at various exhibitions.
